Cantina Frentana
The Frentana Winery in Rocca San Giovanni was
one of the first Wine Growers Cooperatives in
Abruzzo, founded towards the end of the 1950's.
The modern wine making systems have been successfully
and harmoniously integrated with the historical
and architectural surroundings of the vinyard
that is dominated by a large wine filled tower
that gives the winery an extremely unique and
original touch.
On delivery to the winery the grapes are carefully
selected, and thanks to the genuine desire to
produce wholesome natural products by means of
a well balanced combination of local traditions
and state of the art wine making technology, are
skilfully transformed into fine wines.
Our wines are the proud descendants of a wine
making culture that has reinvented both the history
and lifelong customs of the territory, beholding
and protecting our past and our future with the
integrity of today.
The symphony of colours and contours created by
our vines are at one with the surrounding countryside,
orchestrating in this togetherness the natural
beauty of wide open colourful spaces that reveal
the undiscovered facets of an Abruzzo steeped
in wine making traditions.
From this lifelong experience, the Cantina Frentana
wines are born, innately at home in contemporary
lifestyles and ideal accompaniment with fine cuisine.

Terre Valse Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano
Terre di Venere
Trebbiano d'Abruzzo. This wine is fermented in
oak barrels and then left in wood to age. The
sediment is regulary re-circulated inside the
barrel following the "batonnage" technique. The
resulting wine is thus much softer, richer and
well balanced.
Terre Valse Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Montepulciano is a staple red variety of central
Italy; it washes down much pasta both at home
and abroad. In the hands of producers aspiring
to more than jug wine, Montepulciano assumes noble
proportions. Much Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC
wine falls into the latter category. Here is our
new Montepulciano D'Abruzzo , FrentanaÕs Terre
Valse, that is back to the style we enjoyed in
the past, with loads of forward fruit in the nose
and the palate. With the soaring popularity of
red wines, especially those of Italy, this represents
not only an excellent wine, but also a superb
value.

Rubesto
This intense ruby Red Reserve wine is made from
Montepulciano grapes gathered from hillside vines.
Produced totally from selected Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
grapes, it ages in oak casks for some months and
rests in bottles for another year of refinement.
it has a dry, soft and slightly tannic taste.
After the period in oak barrels, the resulting
wine acquires a pleasant equilibrium of flavor,
making it a well balanced and soft wine of striking
taste; it has been named Rubesto.
